When traveling to an office is difficult, ask Ankle & Foot Care Center about mobile wound care. Our service area includes Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Availability depends on your exact location, clinical needs and scheduling. Call (562) 399-5252 to discuss whether a mobile visit is appropriate.

Wounds we evaluate: We offer assessment for diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers and pressure ulcers. A wound's appearance alone does not explain its cause. Circulation, sensation, pressure and overall health can affect the plan. Our foot ulcer care page explains these concerns and office care options.

Arranging a mobile visit: When you call, tell the office where the patient is located, how long the wound has been present, whether there is an existing wound care plan and who is coordinating other medical care. Please mention transportation or mobility limitations. The office can explain availability, information needed before the visit and any insurance or referral requirements. An online request does not confirm an appointment until the office responds.

Have a medication list, relevant medical records, allergy information and details of current dressings ready for the clinician. If a family member or caregiver helps with wound care, ask whether they should be available to discuss follow-up instructions. Confirm access arrangements directly with the office.

Individual care and follow-up: A visit provides an opportunity to discuss the wound, prior treatment and practical care needs. The treatment plan and follow-up schedule depend on the assessment. Ask how to manage dressings, reduce pressure when advised and recognize changes that require another evaluation. Care may involve coordination with other health professionals or referral when additional services are needed.

Advanced modalities, including skin substitutes, may be considered for selected patients. They are not appropriate for every wound. Ask the clinician about suitability, alternatives, expected limitations and coverage requirements. Healing time varies, and neither a healing outcome nor a fixed appointment turnaround can be promised.

When mobile care should not wait: A wound with spreading redness, increasing warmth or swelling, pus, fever or rapidly worsening pain needs urgent assessment. A suddenly cold, numb or discolored foot also needs urgent evaluation. If symptoms are severe or rapidly worsening, use urgent or emergency medical services rather than waiting for a scheduled mobile visit.

Office appointments are also available: Patients who can travel may request care at our Whittier Main Office, 15141 Whittier Blvd, Ste 330, Whittier, CA 90603, or East Los Angeles Office, 4077 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023. Learn about Dr. Mohammed Hassan, DPM, or request an appointment. Call to confirm the office, time and benefits before visiting.
